San Francisco, California/Bay To Breakers BRAekers
Welcome to San Francisco!
Where my blog-mistress, two of her best girlfriends, and 65,000+ other people recently participated in the 97th Annual Bay To Breakers 12K race. The course starts at sea level (the Bay) at the Embarcadero, then rises approximately 215 feet at the top of Hayes Street...then gradually flows alongside the Panhandle, through Golden Gate Park, and ends at Ocean Beach (the Breakers.)
Started in 1912 as a way to lift the city's spirits after the disastrous 1906 San Francisco earthquake, it is the longest consecutively running footrace in the world (other races' courses and lengths have changed over time.)
Of course, the fog has been there even longer.
But once we crossed over the Golden Gate Bridge,
it was nothing but blue sky ALL THE WAY!
Strike "Fog" off my list of things we'll probably encounter....
Crazy Nekkid People, Fog, Blisters. (Click the photo to enlarge)
Our lovely hotel was conveniently located right on the route for the race!
Our lovely hotel was conveniently located right on the route for the race!
(Just kidding...but check out this link or this one to read more about this very COOL sculptural mural/old hotel on 6th and Howard Streets which has furniture fastened to the outside of the building! And for even more "San Francisco hotel inspiration", check out Mark Ellinger's blog, Up From the Deep: The Hotel Project.)
All rearing to go!
So, my blog-mistress strapped me on and we jumped right in behind...oooops!
these guys forgot their PANTS!
ACK! The crazy nekkid people were fricken everywhere!
Why?!? Check out the Bare To Breakers website for, um, "answers."
Of course, there were plenty of Boobs and Bush running around too.
Ooops! Here's one I missed!
But I'm not even sure he was IN the race.Look out! It's The Salmon!
Every year these guys start at the finish line and run upstream!
Well hello Betty!
I ran into Betty, my long lost Asian cousin!
Perky little thing, isn't she?
Mile 2 - that was easy!
Next we climb the infamous Hayes Street hill...
Oh.
WoW.
Butt, can we hurry up and pass these guys?
Puh-leeeeezzz!
Half-way up that blasted hill, these fun-loving Martian gals offered me a nice cold beer from their kegger which was so cleverly disguised as a spaceship, that not even the cop in the background seemed to notice! (Maybe he was too busy looking at crazy nekkid people?!)Puff-puff...finally...puff-puff...TAH-DAH!!!
We survived Hayes Street Hill!
Thankfully, my blog-mistress took me off and gave me a breather before
we headed downhill to continue the race!
Stay tuned for THAT!....

I had no idea you were a sports bra - I am sooooooo impressed.
Wa??? Are those people really naked? Huh? How's that possible? And why wasn't I invited?
LOL
Hey, Olga doesn't look so big when you're wearing her! That was a compliment, not sure it came out that way, but you do fill her out rather well! !!!
OH... and I'm very impressed that you did the run! I've never done anything like that, heck, walking to the end of the block is tough for me.
I forgot to congratulate you ... it was the naked bums that got me all confused!
sheesh, those bums did get me all confused 'cause I also wanted to say how cool that first photo was, of the bridge.
Damn, it's been too long since I've seen a man's tush...obviously! HA!
I'm not DaddyP...I hate to sweat. But a little fresh air and exercise keeps me in tip-top form. You should try it sometime! :)
~Olga
HAHA Drowsey! Yep bare-assed nekkid! It was San Francisco, that's how! And we didn't run, we walked...really fast! :)
~Olga
Geez Drowsey...after the first mile it actually got pretty boring! And they were noe exactly the most athletic looking butts if you know what I mean! HA! Maybe you should come to the race with me next year! :)
~Olga
Wonderful to see you and your blog-mistress enjoying the many unusual sights San Francisco has to offer, and very happy to know you survived the dreaded Hayes St. hill!
Thank you for your very kind nod (and link) to my site, Olga. Looking forward to finding out how you fared along the next neck of the race!
Mark
WowZer....naked huh? Shessshhh where is Johnny Depp when you need him?
And your friend is indeed very lovely and yes perky.
Of course as you know it is awfully hard to be perky when you are a D or better.
I think I remember perky....it's been so long ago.LOLZ!!
Yup DP is sooooooo impressed that he is snuffing everyone today.
And I am tellinjg on him!!
So there...now you know....he really is an old git!! I may never recover...LOLZ!!!
i did that race, too! my friends took all the pics, so i'm waiting for them to send me them. but until then, it's good reliving the race with yours. we saw a lot of the same people! except i don't remember that naked blue guy -- and i missed out on seeing the salmon fight their way upstream this year!
still, it was SO fun! this was my second one -- and i'm gonna plan on doing it forever now! looks like you had a LOT of fun, too, olga!
Way too kwel !! I wanna play !!!Maybe next year or the next - can you send me a link ? Do I have to run, or can I walk it ?
I am a bit concerned about all those with unsupported flappy bits, who participated.
Maybe we should start a trust fund to help them find appropriate "non-flappy" support systems.
Hello Mark! We had a blast (can ya tell?!) in San Francisco! And after conquoring Hayes St. Hill, I've decided my blog-mistress is no where CLOSE to being over that "other hill!" :)
~Olga
Perky is as perky does, Shinade! Whatever that means! DaddyP is snuffing people?!? Has he gone soft in the kiwis or what?!?!?
~Olga
Hi Abbagirl! Ooooh!...Let me know if you post your photos! I'd love to see them. We're gonna make it an annual trip too! :)
~Olga
MSW - The link is in the post, silly girl! Yes, I was a bit concerned about the amount of floppage going on...not to mention chaffing. And we walked...lots of people walked...some not very straight either!
~Olga
23744 - Olga looks good on you. WOW! For that matter you look terrific with or without Olga.
It must have been a great race. Nice to see Olga Held Up her end or front or whatever. But how come you were not nekkid? Now that would be something to see in San Francisco or anywhere.
Cheers
Urso Branco
Urso branco - You are a silly ol' bear! Even my blog-mistress has limits as to how much humilation she'll endure. Wearing me was enough!
~Olga
Was that Robert and his Rubber Chicken rearing to go? ;~)
Hopefully, Phil Speedy Chickencat will be old enough to race Bare to Breakers next year! :~)
Was that BRA-rack Obama next to the Smurf??? ;~)
Did Olga finish first?
MissMP - Oh yes...I forgot to mention that I finished FIRST! In the Over-The-Shoulder-Boulder-Holder division. ;)
~Olga
Amazing? Yep, I would say amazing, eyeball popping, and FUN!! It's really interesting to see how a different city can be ... well, different! I can't imagine seeing something like this in MN.
Nekkid dudes? Ahhhhh!!! My cornias are burnt ... ohh, hi there Betty :-)
Drowsey should race next time, behind the blue guy (he heeeee) ~ and the aliens?? Robert and I might have not finished the race ... This has to be one of my absolute favorite posts of all times.
As I have said before, coming to Olga's blog is so much fun because you NEVER know what might happen next. I was blown away with this photo bonanza. and there's more????
SHAZZAM!!!!!!
I raise two cups, and say "cheers" to my fav bra and mistress.
PhilSpeedyChickinCat says, "I want in!" .... "I will run nekkid!!"
Speedy - Ya know, just watching this race from the sidelines was an athletic event for some! I think you & Crusty would fit right in! :)
Thanks for the LOVE!!!
~Olga
I'm giggling like an eight year old looking at all those pictures. But Damn that race looks fun! Jealous once again...
I really like the Salmon folk's idea of running the whole thing backwards, but it must get a bit lonely towards the end(beginning)!
-The Rev.
Hi Rev! I think you need to run this race...you could wear your dog collar & everything! Or....nothing.
:O (tee-hee!)
~Olga
hey last ime I was there at the convention centre dowtown..I didn't see any nekkid people..:)))
Ha, indeed. Well, if a nude jogging Reverend would work anywhere, it's San Fran.
well, it's been a while but a saggy bum is better than no bum ... lol. Besides, I don't want a guy with a perkier butt than mine!! ( ! ) That's a bum.
Finally finding time to check in with my favorite Bodacious Olga, and she's still working it...Go Girl! Very impressive to move up that hill with all that top weight.
Crusty - Mark your calendar for the 3rd Sunday in May...be in San Francisco...you'll see plenty of nekkid folks! :)
~Olga
That's fer sure Rev! SF brings out the cRaZy side of people! :)
~Olga
Hi Kuanyin - GREAT to see you again! :) :) :) Yeah, I was singing "Ain't no mountain high enough" all the way!!!
~Olga
Olga, I think- therefore I am- I mean I think you're a lucky bra most days but EOUUUU to the yucky arses in the pic.
Hugs perky one~~
Ahhhh, to hang out in a place where everybody runs around in their skivvies or less.
xoxox
crazy nekkid people are killing me!!!
"Of course, the fog has been there even longer."
HA HA HA HA
Thats for sure!
Sometimes I miss the San Fran FOG....but I do NOT miss the San Fran HILLS.
My god woman!
Why are all the nekked people so wrinkly? Weren't there any hot nekked people??? LOL!
I'm envisioning all the wrinkly old junk bouncing around while these people run...*shudder*
Hey Sugar - YES YOU AM!....that's for SURE! :) Nice to see you again - I missed you!!!!!!
~Olga
Diva - With emphasis on the "hanging out" part! :)
~Olga
Meleah - Oh I love the fog!!! San Francisco is one of my favorite places on earth! :) And now I have even MORE reason to love it!
~Olga
RC - I dunno why there was such a surplus of wrinkley "stuff", but maybe next year will be hotter...in more ways than one! ;)
