Knockin' Around Knoxville, Tennessee

For my final adventure in 2008,
my Divalicious Chaperon bra'ved the nippy winter weather to take me out
and expose me to some of Knoxville, Tennessee's most famous landmarks!
(brrrrrr....it's 9 degrees...put me ON, Diva!)
The Mast General Store has been around since 1883...
and it's said that "If you can't buy it here, you don't need it!"

Thankfully, inside the store was much warmer...
and my attention was immediately drawn to a sign that said
BEER!
Dang!...not the kinda beer I was hopin' for!
But 'twas still pretty sweet!
Then we headed over to the famous Krystal
for some authentic Tennessee grub. Here, I learned two things...
1st: Ya call it THE Krystal....
2nd: They serve what Diva calls Gut Bombs.

Apparently, Guido, the chef really enjoys his own cooking!
I gave him a hug and he said,
" Olga, la Traveling Bra! Io il mio nome accanto piatto dopo voi!
La Bra Buster!"
Next on the agenda was Diva's favorite place on earth....
(This is also where I met Jake & Elvis)
Diva wasn't up to performing with me that day (too many guts bombs, I think)
but it was thrilling just to be such on hallowed ground.
Then, even though I am NOT a sports bra,
Diva showed me Neyland Stadium,
where her beloved Tennessee Volunteers play football...
or some silly game, I'm not sure...
I wasn't really paying attention to what she was saying 'cuz
off in the distance something else had caught my eye!
Check out that GIANT DISCO BALL!
I was excited to think maybe we'd watch it drop at midnight on New Years Eve!...but then Diva told me it wasn't a disco ball...it's a structure called the Sunsphere, built for the 1982 World's Fair.
Oh well, I still say it looks like a giant disco ball.

Thanks Diva! This was a GREAT way to end the year...and now I'm looking forward to more exciting globe-trotting adventures in 2009! Stay tuned for more from Tennessee...and beyond!
Ta-Ta! (for now!)

Go Vols! And Titans of course. Looks like my kind of place. And thank you so much for the Santa hat, Olga, I finally got my post up from the day after Christmas.
You seem a little perplexed by just the one globe.

Gut bombs, huh? I wonder if they're anything like the sliders from White Castle?

Krystal is absolutely wretched - they truly (TRULY) are gutbombs!

I shan't be taking Olga to said establishment whilst she visits; once a year is enough for this Rev!
